MOVING FORWARD

Aloha SIVA Ohana and Our Beautiful Volleyball Community,

After over 35 incredible years of playing and coaching this game I love, the time has come for a shift in focus. While I am stepping away from the daily grind of coaching, I am not stepping away from the community. I will continue to be present—guiding, mentoring, and supporting the coaches and players who are shaping the next generation of the sport.

This past season brought with it many unexpected challenges—both mentally and physically—that have reminded me of the importance of balance and prioritizing what matters most. At this stage in my journey, my focus needs to turn toward my family, the club, and the continued development of the SIVA Training Facility in Burlington and Hayes Athletic Court in Blaine.

To the Hayes family: thank you for your unwavering belief in our mission and for giving SIVA the opportunity to grow roots in Whatcom County. Your support has been a cornerstone of everything we've built.

To the coaches who continue to stand beside me: I am deeply grateful. Your loyalty and commitment through difficult times have not gone unnoticed. I am in your debt, and I will keep working to make things right. You have each been a huge part of our program’s success. I am always in awe when I watch the way you train and coach your teams. Thank you for being constant champions of growing this sport. Your passion and leadership inspire me.

To the families and athletes who have trusted me with your time, dreams, and development—you have given me purpose. You are why I have pushed through the hardest of seasons.

And to my family—thank you for loving me unconditionally, supporting me through every high and low, and encouraging me to keep striving to be better. You are my foundation.

Though I may not be on the court as often, I will always be a part of this volleyball community. Watching our passionate and skilled coaches take the lead fills me with pride and confidence—SIVA is in good hands.
